How to create a electric charger for a battery?

I am working on building a charging station out of wires and a D battery; though I am not sure exactly how to go around doing it so it actually works. I need to create 7.69 volts or more to be generated to my video camera battery via wires D batteries and other parts. I would like any help As Soon As Possible! Thanks! How to create a electric charger for a battery? You need enough D cells in series to provide more than 7.69 volts, then a current limited voltage regulator to do the charging. You need to find the correct current limit and charging voltage from the battery manufacturer, or just measure it from your existing charger (you cannot measure it from the battery itself). A suitable regulator is available from National Semiconductor, among others.

This is an electronic design project, be sure that you have enough knowledge to do this. Fire and explosion is a real possibility should you screw up!How to create a electric charger for a battery?5 x1.5v D cell in Series would create 7.5 volts...mmm.... I would not attempt to do this.

Try to go to your local Batteries Plus store and ask them how to do this.
