If you plug in the charging cord and the charging light comes on then there is something between the interface and the battery. Take it to a computer store to fix it.
Seeing how you had the problem before, this is probably the answer.

Also, try to feel your adapter after it has been plugged onto your laptop for a while (the laptop should be off) and see if it is warm.
