How to know when my battery is finished charging ?

Yesterday i bought my first dslr camera, the canon rebel xs.

I tested it out for a few hours yesterday with my friends and I am planning to bring it to a museum with me today. So I plugged in my charger and charged the battery over night, The manual says it only needs two hours to fully charge but the light on the charger is still on (green). How do/will I know if it's fully charged?How to know when my battery is finished charging ?If its on green that means it is fully charged.
