How long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge?

I have a CB12A-A motorcycle battery I just bought, and in the dura-last manual said it should take 12 hours on a 500m Amp charger to charge the battery, but all i have is a 2 amp charger... does that mean it would take just three hours to charge? How long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge?Yes, but why did you go with Old Tech? My AGM battery arrived UPS fully charged and ready to go. I was riding within five minutes of getting the battery. How long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge?charge it over nite best or at least a few hours

better than pushing it any dayHow long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge? It will depend on the battery and charger type, but with a 2 amp charger 4 to 5 hours then check the battery with a 12v meter. How long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge?i would think you just don't have the correct charger for that battery. those specks you gave usually represent the kind of CHARGER that's used to charge specif batteries. it's usually a small black device that you plug into a receptacle and then the other end fits into a specif charger. you might ask wherever you got the battery what you should. something doesn't seem right to me. you may need a specific charger for that battery.

my son also has a cycle and the charger is not a regular battery charger that is used on a car battery. however i'm also aware that the charger is only a trickle charger that is used when the cycle is not be used every day.How long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge?if that is a new Battery that was just filled with acid you can put it on your 2 amp charger for an hour and you will be okHow long should a brand new 12v motorcycle battery take to charge? That means you don't charge/equalize that battery with constant charging

with a 2 Amp. charger.

That's an automotive charger and the rate is too high for so small a battery.

A 500mA. charger is pretty cheap, but if you have to use the 2 Amp unit:

Charge it for a half hour or so, or until all cells are gassing.

(Watch the battery and stop charging when all cells are bubbling.)

Stop. Let it rest for an hour or two. Charge again untill it gasses.

Let it rest/equalize again for an hour or two.

Charge again. - Top up any 'low' cells. and install.
