How do you make a battery to hold energy from a generator?

For a project, we've made a generator. How would we make a battery to hold the energy it porduces, so that we can use it later? It needs to be homemade, we can't buy one in the store. How do you make a battery to hold energy from a generator? What you are talking about is a rechargeable battery , which is a lot more complicated than a primary battery. You can't just put a copper and zinc strip in a lemon (that would be a primary battery, one that puts out electricity but can't be recharged)

The only conceivable to build rechargeable batteries are one's based on lead plates like they use in automobile batteries...but making the plates and putting the antimony and all that would be beyond most people's resources or time.

But there are other solutions to storing the power other than a homemade battery. You could use the generator to run a small air compressor and store the energy as compressed air and then use an air tools as a use of that stored power.

You could use the generator (DC volts) to do electrolysis of water and store the power produced as hydrogen and oxygen gas to be reunited and burned for heat.

You could use the generator to turn a small winch to raise a heavy weight to a certain height and use that raised weight as energy to drive a wheel or something else. A variation of this is to use the generator to run a small aquarium pump to pump water up hill for storage (Potential energy) and run the water back downhill to drive a pump or motorHow do you make a battery to hold energy from a generator?I suppose the easiest battery to construct with basic materials would be a lead acid battery each

section is capable of supplying 2 volts but requires about 2.2 volts to charge each cell.

Construction- you require for each cell a odd number of sheet lead oblong shaped plates and six thin wooden spacers to match . to make - stack the lead and wood interleaving each lead plate with wood

say you had 5 lead plates you now have to connect no.1 to no 3 to no 5 together to make one pole of the battery and no2 to no4 together to make the other pole of the battery find a suitable plastic container place your lead and wood construction in and carefully fill with sulphuric acid s.g about 1240.slowly charge

if working correctly the plates should give off gas NO SMOKING

You have not said what voltage your generator gives you might have to make more cells to suit the voltageHow do you make a battery to hold energy from a generator?I think you can't, because it isn't its nature. Only rechargeable ones can hold energy after charging and its not with generator but rather with battery charger.
