I have a 40 farad Tsunami capacitor installed to try and help from my lights dimming when my stereo is pumped, which it does a bit. I have noticed that ever since i had it installed that if I dont drive my car for a day the battery is dead. I can only assume that the capacitor is draining the battery. Is there any way of stopping this or shutting the power connection off? The capacitor shouldn't have anything to do with draining your battery, make sure your amp fully powers off when you turn your car off it could be staying on all the time.

Your alternator has to work even harder then if the cap wasn't there. This means your battery is not being charged fully so it is dying.
You will most likely need to invest in a bigger alternator. If you don't you are going to have either your battery and/or your alternator fail.

You always have to have the alternator running also, and some alternator have lets say, 140 amp idle, and 200 amp highway speed power.
