How to get the battery out of my 03 buick century?

The battery is on the left side underneath some hoses and underneath this long metal bar that connects to the fender to the front of the car. It looks like a support rod or something and its also on the other side.

The battery cables on this car screw into the battery which I think is pretty weird since ive never seen any batteries like this before.

I unscrewed the cables and unscrewed the battery but the bar and the hoses are in the way! Is there a way to get the battery out?How to get the battery out of my 03 buick century?welcome to GM lol. remove the bar and manuver it past the hoses thats all u can do. 3.8 monte carlo is even worse they put the battery right under the washer fluid resivour lol.How to get the battery out of my 03 buick century? My mom had an older buick like that, and to replace the battery we had to remove the bar from over the battery, then it was a tight fit but it will come out.

The side mount terminals began way back in the 1970's with the chevrolet vega. The idea was to pack the car into a special train car and stand the car on its nose and not have the terminals short out during transport. This was done so that they could prevent allot of the damage experienced by shipping in open train cars.
