What is the best way to properly care for the battery of my mac book?

How to properly care the battery of my mac book? When I'm using it for a long period of time, is it better to keep charging it even the battery is full or unplug it when it is full and charge it again when the battery is weak. And is it wrong to unplug while it is still charging and have not yet fully charge? Kindly tell me the guidelines on how to properly care the battery so it will last longer. Please also tell me what are the DOs and DON'Ts. Thank you in advance! What is the best way to properly care for the battery of my mac book?DO: -if youre computer heats up start charging it because if the computer is hotter it goes through the battery faster

-if you need to unplug it while charging it is perfectly fine

-if you ever pull out the battery and the computer is on it should be fine

as long as the charger doesent come out

if you are on an expended trip where you wont be near an a/c outlet buy a travel charger (for airplanes or car) or buy a second battery

DONT:

-let the charger plug get bent or hit (the plug in the computer)

-leave it on sleep all night it can drain the battery and lower the life of the hard drive

-short it

-let it heat up or it can shorten life or in extreme cases leak or explode (youd have to let it get hotter than normal or the battery would have to be defective)What is the best way to properly care for the battery of my mac book?Try not to charge it too much as the battery will wear down quick enough.

Charge it when it does need charging (low battery life left)

Try not to let them get in too many hot environments (the laptop is partly a factor too but it'll be fine with that)What is the best way to properly care for the battery of my mac book?I don't know what model macbook you have but what I do with mine is once it's full charged, I take out the battery and just use the extension. It'll help save your battery's life and duration. I only use the battery when I'm on the go and don't want to take my extension.

It's okay to unplug while you're charging it, there's nothing wrong with it.What is the best way to properly care for the battery of my mac book? Here are all the facts:

Sleep mode doesn't put much strain on a battery pack. Mine can sleep for more than 30 hours without any power cord while I travel around the world on a plane.... if I simply leave it sleeping.

Don't blame all the heat of a notebook on the battery pack charging. Much of the heat comes from the hard drive (unless you have a solid-state drive). Just because it gets hot doesn't mean you need to do something about the battery pack.

The battery has a maximum number of %26quot;cycles%26quot; based on the miliAmpere rating of the pack (all notebook %26quot;batteries%26quot; are actually a battery pack and regulator board enclosed in a small case). For example, the average pack can do about 300-350 cycles. If you recharge it every other day, that means about two years life.

The battery stores best at about HALF the charge, not at full charge. This is important for frequent storage periods of more than a day at a time. For storing only a few hours, it isn't critical.

You can extend the life of any battery by NOT USING IT. Makes sense, eh? Take it out when you plan to use the power cord for the whole day. Plug in the power cord before removing the battery pack or you will loose your date and time setting. And for the love of Mike, don't mess with the power when the MacBook is started up, especially when it is in the process of starting up, saving a file, or downloading. Do I have to tell you that?

The best temperature for a battery is about the same as your comfortable range: 10-35 C or 50-95 F.

If you charge the battery often when it isn't depleted, or frequently start to deplete it before it is fully charged, it will develop a limited range of charge. That means it may start to have only one hour of use before the warning about %26quot;Low power%26quot; appears. To restore the normal range, let it run down to the point where the MacBook goes into sleep mode due to no power left. Then plug in the power cord and let it charge fully. That may only be 95-98 percent, don't fret. When it is as fully charged as possible, unplug the cord and let it deplete. Don't worry if it only goes 20 minutes before the warning. Let it go all the way down again. Keep doing this deplete-charge routine until it regains its %26quot;normal%26quot; range. That's usually about two cycles, but I have had a badly treated battery pack that needed five cycles. For a battery pack that has already done 200 cycles, the %26quot;normal%26quot; range of use might not be more than 3 hours, but it will definitely regain almost all of its normal range. Many battery packs are chucked for Piece of ____ won't keep a charge!%26quot; when it may simply be a need for restoring the range.
