If this isn't it, try unplugging your cap for a day and see if it still kills your battery, if so, then you'll know it isn't your cap!How to stop my capacitor from draining my battery when parked?A properly functioning capacitor - regardless of the value in micro farads or farads will absolutely not drain your battery - once charged, there is no DC current draw in a capacitor.
Think of the capacitor as a reservoir of current - when it is charged and the battery voltage drops due to a sudden increase in the load, the capacitor discharges, maintaining the voltage at a reasonably steady level.
Electronics Tech. How to stop my capacitor from draining my battery when parked? The problem is probably not the cap draining power but it putting added strain on your alternator. Your alternator has to work even harder then if the cap wasn't there. This means your battery is not being charged fully so it is dying.
You will most likely need to invest in a bigger alternator. If you don't you are going to have either your battery and/or your alternator fail.
Good Luck!!!How to stop my capacitor from draining my battery when parked?BECAUSE THE CAPACITOR PUTS MOTE STRAIN ON THE SYSTEM IT DOES NOT SAVE YOUR SYSTEM, IF ANYTHING JUST HURTS IT MORE!!!
You always have to have the alternator running also, and some alternator have lets say, 140 amp idle, and 200 amp highway speed power. Think about that too, you may need to rev it a little. How to stop my capacitor from draining my battery when parked?capacitor can drain your battery only in case if broken down / damaged. no other ways. 40farad cap is pretty unusable for this application.
